About Overguard

Safety data shouldn’t arrive after the event.

Overguard is the connected workforce safety platform for critical infrastructure. We detect, predict, and account for safety events across construction, utility, and infrastructure sites, with hardware that clips to any EN 397 helmet and a platform built around how work actually happens on site.

Why Overguard exists

The industry measures everything, after it happens.

Construction is 5% of the UK workforce and 26% of its fatal workplace injuries. The sector is full of safety data: inspection records, near-miss registers, RIDDOR files. Almost all of it describes the past. When something goes wrong on an unconnected site, the longest minutes are spent finding the worker.

Overguard runs upstream of that record. The pod detects the event as it happens, the platform routes the Alert while response still matters, and Overguard AI surfaces the patterns that precede Alerts, so the record becomes the last line of defence, not the first sign of trouble.

Our approach

Four things we hold to.

  1. 01

    Run upstream of the event.

Most safety data is a record of what already happened. We build for the minutes and weeks before: live Risk Signal, patterns surfaced by Overguard AI, and Alerts that arrive while there is still time to act.

  2. 02

Designed for the worker wearing it.

The S1 clips to the helmet a worker already owns, weighs 165 grams, and carries no camera, microphone, or productivity telemetry. Adoption is a design requirement, not a change-management project.

  3. 03

Meet the standards before asking for trust.

Construction, utilities, and infrastructure run on standards that took decades to harden. We meet them (EN 397, IP67, ATEX Zone 2) before we ask anyone to wear our hardware.

  4. 04

    Say exactly what ships.

The spec sheet is the honest one. What Overguard S1 does is claimed plainly; what is on the S2 roadmap is labelled as roadmap. Credibility compounds, and it is the only marketing a safety company keeps.

The company

Built where the work is: London and Perth.

Overguard was founded in 2024 to close the gap between how safety systems work and how sites actually operate. The company is headquartered in London, with operations in Perth, Western Australia, the two markets whose contractors, utilities, and infrastructure programmes the platform is built for.

Leadership

Sam Hodge

Chief Executive Officer · Founder

Sam founded Overguard after years spent around the operational reality of major infrastructure delivery in the UK and Australia, where safety systems were thorough on paper and blind in the field. He leads the company across both regions, with the engineering and safety-operations team split between London and Perth.

Where we operate

Two regions, one platform.

United Kingdom · London
Headquarters, platform engineering, and UK pilot deployments across Tier 1 construction, utilities, and infrastructure.
Western Australia · Perth
Ground operations for energy, resources, and remote-site infrastructure, including LoRaWAN gateway deployments beyond cellular coverage.
